National A-Levels Mathematics marathon

I went to HELP the last Saturday - 20 dec - together with Debbie and Joanne.

We took part as a team in this National A-Levels Mathematics Marathon for the hope of winning a scholarship out of this.
It was truly a brilliant experience, though we didn't win OF COURSE!!

The other students who took part there are all BRILLIANT KIDS who are BRILLIANT in MATHS!
at least those from chinese schools.

Debbie-maths questions
Me- Sudoku questions
Joanne - IQ questions

We were one of the earliest to reach there, or rather one of the latest to register after the deadline(thanks debbs!;) )
There were total 59 teams from all over malaysia.

Joanne
Debbie - not so nervous anymore
We were waiting for the finals, this was after our test, for the quiz!the finals
the left group win first-from chunglin(they cheated a few times, but well, they did great at the end)
second goes to the right
third the middle - chung hwa

they were simply amazing..

i came out from the hall actually feeling kinda dumb and noob in maths..haha!

all in all, truly a good experience..=)

---------------------------------------------------------------

one day before the competition, stayed overnight in eunice's house, for the first time and also the last time..how sad huh? she'll be leaving soon! anyway, teman-ed her to buy all her stuffs in kajang town and MV. its truly a rush but quite enjoyable actually..basically i was her tour guide that day, pulling her away from the wrong direction! i suppose some girls DO have a good sense of direction..not only guys..hehehehehhee..
then, went to see the choir gigs!;)
they improved a lot!

till here then..guess i had updated quite a lot to last some days!=P

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

family stuffs - cake &christmas

Me and my mum decided to mess around the kitchen last week for fun. Thus, we decided to bake a pineapple butter cake! It had been a long time since my last home-made cake-i think it was around august last year. Its quite an easy cake to bake actually.

the ingredient

tadaa!
though abit hangus on top due to the temperature, but after removing the black layer, its actually mouth-watering!
Easy huh?;)

Anyway, another small event to be remembered. Went out with Sandy the other day when i saw THIS!
i know, like what a big deal huh?
but its BIG to ME!haha!i just can't resist to buy this box and also..

THIS!
they are quite cheap you know.
At that time, i still didn't really have any idea on how i'm to hang this at my house because i didn't have a christmas tree!

Well, first choice - go back to my old house and chop down the BIG christmas tree that had been planted since i was about 5 years old. (not a really a good idea as the roots are pretty huge by now)
That leave the second choice, the last indeed-just hang them across my dining hall with a string or something.*i decided on this*

When i was taking my release-my-absolute-tiredness nap on sunday, my mum suddenly crept up to me. I was still blurring from the sleep when i heard the excitement in her voice.
So i woke up to see what she was excited of.
Lo and behold!
Guess what she and my dad bought??
Yes, i think you might guess correctly!

a WONDERFUL CHARMFUL BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS TREE!
*blink blink*

i never would have thought i'll get one!haha
i know i know..im making a mountain out of a mole hill it seems!
but hey!maybe not to you, it IS a mountain to me..to ME okay??*grin*
to own a christmas tree is sort of my childhood dream. i used to admire the christmas trees especially in the Home Alone movies...memories..hehe.
anyway, it was truly a sweet surprise!

He seems huge here!haha

Brother trying his best to hang the loose star on top
the angel

have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Break Free Concert

The concert was really an unexpected one! I never thought it would be so successful, unbelievable, and besides, there was so many who turned up! I still remember how Esther had sounded when there was just about 30+ people in the hall at 7pm. "YEETHONG!!THERE'S SO LITTLE PEOPLE!!!HOOOWWW???".

I was preparing hastily in the make-up room (i was late =P). When, it was 7.30pm, one of my eyes still had no eye-liner!( i missed the dance from Funky Fever!) But what choice did i have that time, the girl just simply drew one round around it, i ran to the hall where everyone was waiting for me. Everyone was smiling anxiously. I took a peek out the hall, and lo and behold, i saw what like a hall FULL of people! I was simple astounded and really thank God for such miracle!

I was still in a shock trance, when suddenly aunty Rachel spray one line of red dust/paint across my face! It was actually meant for my hair! The shouting game they were playing outside was almost finished, and it was about time for all of us to sing!

I quickly wiped away the one red line on my left cheek, hoping it wont be so obvious. There was no mirror around anyway. Haha. Then it was time. We went up to greet the multitude of people. I was very pleased to saw a few faces whom i thought would not come, and also i saw Maggie the new era guy. What a shock! =).

The worship singing was a great one, though halfway through the fast songs, i found my voice shaky and almost had no voice left. Guess i had shouted too much for the past days. Anyway, really enjoyed Alvin's worship-leading. He just simply trust in God the whole time during the worship leading. I still remember he once said to me, "You don't have to think of what you would do when you are on stage later, you just follow and trust on what the Spirit guides you at that time."Then he smiled. I had heard of it many times, but yet it's really different when you are in it and someone told you that.

The SMS game was a funny one! It seemed weird, seeing this game became a reality. I still remember esther explaining how this game works enthusiastically in the car on the way to Kasturi, her eyes gleaming. Ahh, there was just so many plannings and ideas discussed in the car for 4 days. That was one month before the concert!

Anyway, after the game, Pastor Paul Ch'ng talked about this one testimony about a boy who had so much hatred towards his parents. But through God's grace and love, he was able to forgive them and even loved them. During the altar call, i was touched to see so many people who went ahead, even more touched to see one whom i know of the background, it was something like the testimony. I glanced across to esther and found her almost in tears. =P. I understand though, she had put so much hope in this concert. Anyway, after that, its food time! The food was just so excellent! So many varieties of them! Then, only i remember how hungry i was.(i didn't take my dinner yet and it was already 10.30) Haha.

I had learned a lot of things during the concert, more to during the preparation for this concert, especially that one week practice. Its truly the process that mattered, how we just did our best and surrendering the end result to God. Of course, there were a lot of ups and downs, misunderstandings, many accidents, many spiritual attacks, worriness to each and everyone who were involved in the concert. I'm glad that through God's protection, all of them were overcame and we were strengthened through that!=D
A lot of the pictures are with the others, especially the group photos.
Here are some of the ones in my camera.

I can't believe this concert had come to pass, but i know that there'll surely be greater things in the future for the youth in chinese section. This concert is just the beginning of it. I'm glad to be part of the team. From a dream and vision from God, to the plannings in the back of the classroom, to the invitation, to the practices, to the prayer, to the day!=)

The hecticness came tumbling down hence the late shout out!*ehemm..also laziness la*=P

I am just so relieved that its over!Though, my heart is definitely a little heavy to leave the school i loved (eventhough sometimes i hated it) behind, knowing that i will not be going back there as an official convent student. I would say that i am proud to be a student from convent though last time i didn't really show it out or really appreciate everything thats in convent till the very last few months. =)

Oh btw, there'll be a concert coming up on the coming
Monday

which is on the 8th of December!

The name is BREAK FREE CONCERT.

It'll be held in my church, KAOG, which is just right behind of Yuhua's bus stop. Its in Chinese and English. There'll be icebreakers, games, fooooooooooood, music and some words! You can just come to enjoy the concert after the exams and spend your time there knowing friends instead of merely sitting at home doing nothing but feeling bored!

HENCE, COME AND SHOW YOURSELF DURING THE CONCERT!=))

it'll definitely be real fun!

shall see ya'll then on Monday!!
